 Local Authors Gather at Crafts in the Meadows
Local Southwest Virginia and nearby North Carolina authors are scheduled to attend a “Meet the Authors” gathering on Saturday July 6, 2013, at Mountain Meadow Farm, 84 Concord Road in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Featured as part of Crafts in the Meadows, “Meet the Authors” is an annual event showcasing the talent of local and regional writers. Authors will be available from 10 AM to 5 PM with copies of their books for sale, to talk about their work and to sign copies of their books.  The event is free and open to the public, rain or shine.
Listed are just a few of the many writers in attendance: Aaron McAlexander, Becky Mushko, Carolyn Feagans { bring seven of her books }, Patricia Leath and Phyllis Stump { famous for her “They Call Me Aunt Orlene” },  The books featured cover a wide range of subjects from local history to biography to fiction as well as cookbooks and poetry. “We have very interesting authors this year,” commented Sue Shelor. “Our annual festival is a wonderful opportunity for the public to meet some outstanding writers from our region. Come out and visit with the writers and learn about our heritage and other fascinating subjects.”
Other books that will be present at the festival for sale. The popular The Man Who Moved the Mountain by Richard C. Davids, Mayberry  Presbyterian Cookbook, and Eat & Explore Virginia.
Crafts in the Meadows/Meet the Authors is an annual event taking place in early July. Other activities planned are a craft show featuring local artisans and demonstrations.
